Ch Camelot's Noble Fella CDX
bred by Pat Herschman and owned by Margaret
Zonghetti and Kay Bickford was the #1 Golden in America for 1981. He
finished at 10 months of age and is pictured here taking a Group 1 on the
way to his first Best In Show at age 18 months. He obtained all his legs
for both his CD and his CDX with placements handled by Kay. Fella was
handled through most of his Specials career, which included 5 BIS and
Specialty BOB wins, by Bob Stebbins. Although bred on a very limited
basis, he was an outstanding sire. Son of BIS Ch Wochica's Okeechobee Jake
OS, he is the sire of BIS CH Krishna's Ja-Jim Extra Special OS and the
grandsire of BIS CH Toasty's Royal Mercedes, thus a part of 4 generations
of Best In Show Champions. |

Ch Camelot's Visions of Ivyhill,
owned by Barbra Finkelstein and Pat Herschman,
Krystal was bred by Pat. Sired by Ch Dawn Heir's Morn 'N Breeze OS she is the granddaughter of BIS Ch Camelot's Noble Fella CDX OS. Krystal
started out her career by going RWB at the 1984 National from the Bred-By
Class. At the time she was 3 weeks pregnant.
After her litter, she was shown on the Tar Heel Circuit in Spring of 1985
by Linda and Elliot More. In one week Krystal finished her
Championship with a Group 1 from the classes. Since the Mores did not
believe in handling two specials at the same time, Krystal was given over
to amateur handler, Margaret Zonghetti for a limited specials career.
Under Margo's guidance Krystal became the # 7 Golden Retriever Bitch and
the #20 Golden Retriever regardless of sex in the US during a period when
bitches really weren't specialed. After her brief show career she was
retired to brood bitch duties and being the Queen Bee at Ivyhill. |

Can. Ch. Synergold Goldwind Rhiannon
GRCA and GRCC OD
Known to her may fans and friends as "Barkin'
Larkin", she became an Outstanding Dam on her second litter.
"Larkin" needed just one major to finish her American
Championship (she had many major RWB wins.)
She never did get that last "official
major" but on a warm, sunny day at the 1990 GRCA National
Specialty, "Larkin" defeated a total of 55 male and female
American Champions to take BEST VETERAN and a JAM. She was amateur
handled to that win by my friend Kim Crowe. In my mind,
"Larkin" finished her Championship that day - she had nothing
left to prove!
She was truly a great bitch, my best friend, and the
foundation of GOLDWIND.

BIS BISS CH. Malagold Beckwith Big Buff CD, OS, SDHF
(Am./Can./Bda./Mex./Col.
CH. Beckwith's Copper Coin OS SDHF x Beckwith's Chrys-Haefen Belinda OD)
Buff - (b. 12-5-1966, d.
12-27-1979)
The foundation dog of
Malagold Kennels, Buff was born on December 5, 1966. He was highly revered
as an Outstanding Sire and the first Malagold member of the Show Dog Hall
of Fame, going Best of Breed at the 1970 Golden Retriever Club of America
National Specialty.
Over an esteemed show
career, Buff earned three all breed Best in Show, with over 100 group
placements and 18 Group 1 wins. He was as intelligent as he was handsome,
achieving a Dog World Award for Obedience upon the completion of his
Companion Dog (CD) title.
Buff has provided a
significant contribution to the beauty and quality of the Golden Retriever
breed as it is today. He is the sire of the one of the most significant
bitches to be found in the Malagold pedigrees - Malagold Beckwith Bootes,
OD – the foundation bitch of Malagold and the producer of eleven
champions in her own right!
Buff himself can be
found in the history of many an outstanding Golden Retriever pedigree and
his legacy continues on today. What a wonderful beginning for Malagold!

Chant
- (b. 7-17-1976)
CH. Malagold Svea, OD produced a number
of significant dogs in the Malagold line of Golden Retrievers and one of
the most popular was Chant. He exuded personality plus! A real ham and so
playful in the show ring, he loved being in the spot light! Even
though Chant was the perfect house dog, he thoroughly enjoyed the show
competition even into his veteran years. He
was certainly fun to watch, but even more fun to show!
Chant left for us the most perfect
legacy - our beautiful Corey and Clover - his son and daughter out of CH.
Libra Lady Carioca. They dutifully carried on the tradition set by their
father - and continued to let everyone know - Life is so much fun!
Chant was purely a joy, and it shows
through his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids of today!

Libra Lady Carioca CD, OD)
Clover
- (b. 6-7-1980, d. 1-5-1997)
Clover, the feminine half of that
famous brother/sister act "Corey and Clover", was born in June,
of 1980, and finished her championship title in record time. Clover set
many a-hearts to fluttering with her grace and elegance, and as a
fan-favorite throughout her 16 years in the show ring, she had quite a
following!
She was everything that a Golden
Retriever was meant to be - whether a wonderful hotel room guest and easy
traveling companion on the show circuit or a great couch-partner when you
wanted to just watch television. She had it all and did it all.
Clover has become one of the most
influential bitches in the Golden Retriever line, producing multiple
generations of champions, with Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show
wins. For a girl that liked to snooze under the evergreen trees and roll
on the freshly mowed lawn, she had style and class - and she shares those
same traits with her kids and grandkids today.
And a special note from Geri Gerstner
Hart, with whom Clover spent all her years - We miss her but we feel her
presence with us every day......
Thank you, Rover!

(BISS
CH.
Malagold Summer Chant OS, SDHF x CH. Libra Lady Carioca, CDX, OD)
Corey
- (b. 6-7-1980, d. 03-1994)
Noted by many as one of the most
significant Golden Retrievers ever bred, Corey's contribution to the breed
will be forever felt through his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids
alike.
From a truly remarkable show career
that included a Best of Breed and Sporting Group One at the American
Kennel Club's spectacular Centennial Dog Show in 1984 to a superb win at
the 1988 Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty - Best of
Breed from the Veteran's Class, Corey proved that he was made of something
special.
The Outstanding Sire title awarded to
Corey was no fluke either, as at that same 1988 GRCA National Specialty
Corey's daughter, CH. Carlin's Happy Holidays, was awarded Best of
Opposite Sex to her own dad! Numerous pedigrees of outstanding producers
of today, both dogs and bitches, can be traced back to Corey.
What an extraordinary life he lived,
alongside his full sister, CH. Libra Malagold Clover. And what an
extraordinary contribution he has provided to the world of the Golden
Retriever.
Intelligent. Playful. Confident.
Handsome. How proud we are to have had Corey with us at Malagold for all
his years. He really left his mark as the standard-bearer of what a Golden
Retriever should be! And for
that, we at Malagold will be forever grateful.

BIS BISS Am.

CH. Malagold Storm Warning, OS, SDHF
(CH. Daystar's
Tornado Warning OS, SDHF x CH. Malagold Asti Spumante, OD)
Stormy
- (b. 7-5-1991, d. 1-7-2001)
Stormy was a force to be reckoned with
from his very first steps into the show ring. Completing his championship
at the tender age of fourteen months by going Winners Dog at the 1992
Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty was the start of
something big!
This multiple specialty
winning boy went on to accumulate numerous Best in Show wins with Geri
Gerstner Hart expertly guiding his way. What a team they made! Additional
wins including the coveted award of Show Dog of the Year at the Golden
Retriever Review Top 20 competition in 1996.
With Awards of Merit in
1995 and 1996, and the award for Best of Opposite Sex in 1997, the
highlight at Malagold was the Best of Breed win for Stormy at the
prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 1998, with Geri and Stormy
making the cut for the final five in the Sporting Group at
Madison
Square
Garden
. What an awesome experience for them both!
Stormy continued his
winning ways through his veteran years, with a final award of Best Veteran
at the 1999 Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty, with the
additional honor of a Judges Award of Merit being bestowed upon this
stunning show dog.
Stormy's accomplishments
were not limited to the show ring. He is known to many as an outstanding
producer of multiple champion dogs and bitches that continue in his
winning footsteps today!
He holds a special place
in the hearts of those with whom he has shared that "Stormy
Smile". He was truly loved by many!
