to this new column of Everything Golden! Goldie
is a frequent lurker on the Golden Retriever Chat Lists and what she observed is
that there are frequent questions about what products to purchase for your dogs.
Before Golden Retriever Fanciers put out good money for products, Goldie
thought that it would be a great idea to have a critique of some of her favorite
products and test out new ones so you would know if they are worth buying!
Much like a restaurant critic or Consumer Reports, Goldie will give her
best product critiques so that you can feel comfortable purchasing a great
product for your dog without wasting precious money that you can use showing
your dog.
Our first critique is a dog shampoo called Best Shot.

Goldie wants to tell you how they were tested.
The Ultra Wash shampoo and Ultra Plenish conditioner was used on a 13
year old Golden Retriever who because of age and being neutered tends to have
dry coat. It was also used on a 8
year old Golden Retriever who had just blown all her massive undercoat and again
had that dry top coat problem. You
have all experienced those dry guard hairs that look like they will break off
any second! Finally, these products
were used on a 5 year old who has a very wavy topcoat and long furnishings that
easily matted. Each dog after only
one bathing and drying had absolutely remarkable change in the coat texture.
Goldie remarks that these dogs, after only one bath, looked so good that
one would think that she had spent lots of time and had some real “secrets”
of coat conditioning. Goldie is
amazed what this product will do to enhance the texture and feel of these three
examples. The wavy coated dog even
had a substantial reduction in the waves! BUT,

has a 18-month-old Golden Retriever who is currently close to finishing her AKC
championship, but about 3 weeks ago, this dog blew coat and what was left on her
topline, near her rump was very course, dry, brittle hair.
Goldie has this dog entered in many shows coming up and was concerned
that the dog would not be able to compete for that last needed major.
After just 3 weeks of spritzing on the Ultra Revitalizer each evening,
the rump coat has gone from dry and brittle to luxurious!
The coat has grown in and is in great condition!

One
more note from Goldie – the shampoo has a pleasant peppermint smell, good
sudsing action, and rinses out very easily as does the conditioner.
